From the Arthur R. MIller Collection: This is a second hand Hardcover version of this out of print, much sought after book. The book is in great condition with only a little wear to the dust jacket. Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798–1861) is considered one of the greatest Japanese print artists. Alongside such illustrious names as Hokusai and Hiroshige, he dominated the nineteenth-century production of the popular genre of woodblock prints known as ukiyo-e, literally, ‘pictures of the floating world’. The reproductions in this book are by far some of the best quality of Kuniyoshi prints I'ver ever seen. Plenty of the 108 Heroes shown within. Great reference!
